As the mobile arm of Japan's leading telecommunications carrier,
NTT DoCoMo, Inc. was spun off from its parent company, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone
Corporation (NTT), in 1992. The corporate name was officially changed from NTT
Mobile Communications Network, Inc. to NTT DoCoMo, Inc. in April 2000. The leading
mobile communications company in Japan, NTT DoCoMo has a network covering the
entire country.
On November 1, 1999 NTT DoCoMo USA, Inc. was established with
its original headquarters located in San Jose, California. As of July 9, 2001,
the USA headquarters was officially moved to its current location in New York
City. With offices in New York, Washington DC, and a research lab facility in
San Jose, California, the main purpose of NTT DoCoMo USA is to strengthen its
global competitiveness as it upgrades the services it offers worldwide.In the
United States, DoCoMo USA launched its first service offering with the start
of "namikiteru" service on November 1st, 2004.
A Public Wireless LAN access service for Japanese-speaking residents in the United
States, namikiteru service is the first step for DoCoMo USA to bring multimedia
offerings to the U.S. and deliver meaningful content to consumers. More information

our website. In Japan, NTT DoCoMo is the country's premier mobile communications
company, providing wireless voice and data communications to tens of millions
of subscribers with a network covering 99% of the Japanese population.
In addition to high-quality voice capabilities, DoCoMo provides the phenomenally
popular i-mode service, which is our mobile e-mail and Internet access via high-speed
packet transmissions. FOMA, DoCoMo's 3G mobile communications platform based
on W-CDMA technology, offers visual communication services including videophone
and i-motion video clip distribution.With an all digital network, NTT DoCoMo
is a leader in the mobile communications market in Japan. Traffic is growing
not only in voice communications but also data services and i-mode services.
The company's world-class R&D division conducts research and development
on leading-edge mobile communications technology.
Moreover, we are making efforts to have our promising W-CDMA technology accepted
as the world standard for the third-generation mobile communication system. NTT

The name DoCoMo is derived from the first letters of the phrase "Do Communications
Over the Mobile Network." In Japanese, "dokomo" means "anywhere",
and thus our name aptly describes our desire to provide maximum customer satisfaction
anywhere, anytime. DoCoMo is steadily making constant and concrete improvements
in the reliability and convenience of our services. We will accomplish this by
