The difference between other Japanese email solutions for BlackBerry devices and Namimail
In the past, with domestic US mobile devices, Japanese correspondence could be displayed by using small images of the actual Japanese characters on a mobile device.

In regards to Japanese Input, it was necessary to input using Roman characters first (i.e. “GENKI”), then transmit the word to a server via the wireless network, allow the server to convert the word, then select either the hiragana (i.e. “ げんき ”) or kanji (i.e. “元気 ”) form of the word, of which is converted into am image file and sent via the wireless network back to the mobile device.

As you can imagine, this method takes a great amount of time just to input one character, and the significant amount of data transmitted between the device and the server just to convert the characters results in high data communications fees charged by the wireless service provider.

Easy way to read/write Japanese E-mail!
